Frequently Asked Questions
WoodPlank aluminum siding is stocked, warehoused, and distributed from our U.S. facilities to support fast shipping and reliable product availability.
25 years is typical before the color starts to change, but it depends on the level of UV exposure. Eleven after 25 years, the change is barely noticeable to the naked eye in many cases. The structural integrity of the aluminum itself is backed by a 50-year warranty.
Wood cladding is always an option. Just know you're sealing and staining it every couple of years. Composite cladding sits in between - less upkeep than wood, more affordable than aluminum.
Yes, but the product is way different from the 70s. Gone are the days of thin, dent-prone aluminum siding. Ours is marine-grade alloy with UV-protected finishing.
It naturally resists bugs and other forms of decay, and fire can’t spread through it either. The finish holds its colors for 25 years depending on UV exposure, and even after then, you may not notice the color fading. The aluminum itself has a 50-year structural warranty.
Good aluminum is more expensive upfront than vinyl. Cheap aluminum dents easily too, but that’s not what you’ll find here at Woodplank. Our panels are 15-gauge T5 marine-grade. The cost is higher than some alternatives, but it’s a smart investment in your property.
Improper installation. Panels that aren't fastened correctly let moisture behind the wall or rattle in heavy wind. The right trim system and following manufacturer specs prevent most of it. Make sure you follow our installation instructions.
Yes. T5 marine-grade alloy is built for it. Handles coastal salt air and industrial exposure without degrading.
Each board is 12 feet long, and there are 2 boards per bundle. Profile is 6-inch V-groove.
It’s actually one of the best options. The panels are light enough to go over most existing walls without structural reinforcement, so there’s no need to rip anything off.
Our non-combustible aluminum cladding is already above Class A fire-rated materials, meaning it’s approved for commercial and high-rise over 40 feet. Refer to your local code for the specific fastening and substrate rules.
Yes - it’s built to withstand heavy rain and snow without degrading. Wide temperature swings don't crack it, either. No rot or mold mishaps to stress about.
No. Aluminum reflects heat instead of soaking it up. The ventilation gap behind the panels stops surface warmth from reaching your interior walls.
Our Aluminum Cladding panels are crafted from high-quality aluminum, creating a durable, weather-resistant material perfect for residential and commercial exterior use.
Yes, our aluminum cladding is virtually maintenance-free. It doesn't require staining, sealing, or painting—simply enjoy the beauty of wood without the upkeep.
Yes, our aluminum cladding is made from recyclable materials, making it a more sustainable choice compared to traditional materials.
It's engineered to withstand extreme weather, including heavy rain, snow, and temperature fluctuations. It is also ultra-resistant to rotting, splitting, splintering, mold, and mildew, so you never have to worry about these issues.
The aluminum cladding panels come with a 20-year warranty, covering protection against color fading and weather damage. Please note that trims and channels are also covered under the warranty. You can refer to our warranty document for detailed information.
Our Aluminum Cladding typically ships within 2-3 weeks. Most colors are in stock and may ship even sooner.
Installation is straightforward. Simply click the panels into place, ensuring a secure and seamless finish. Detailed instructions are included with every order.
