It has already been factory-sealed on all four sides and is ready to install out of the box. You can choose to seal it if you’d like - an oil-based sealant like Thompson's WaterSeal will lock in the original brown tone. Otherwise, leave it alone and let it weather to a natural silver patina over the years. This is really only about preserving the appearance - it has nothing to do with protecting against moisture or insect damage. 

All of our thermo products are made from 100% authentic, thermally modified wood. Every species is domestically sourced clear grade lumber that is milled and finished in our North American production facility.

This is dependent on your vision and preferences for design. The siding or decking
can be installed with no regular maintenance required, which will allow the wood to
develop into a beautiful silver color over time. If you wish to maintain or restore the
original color, you can apply a fresh coat of oil based sealant at any time.

Yes, absolutely. First attach furring strips securely to the existing substrate. Then install the cladding directly onto the furring strips using exterior-grade stainless steel nails. This creates proper ventilation behind the boards and ensures a long-lasting, stable installation.
